"climbing the walls"

Just thought I'd share a few quick peeks around my studio so you can see what I've been up to lately.

Trilling, I feel myself drawn to join in, could it be done by proxy, a fun sort of voodoo, my pained body in a new simple pain-free-one on your wall?

Oddly enough, Aletta, sculpting leaves my body in incredible pain. My neck and upper back are so damaged from the seizures that the act of holding my arms out in front of me - as I must when I sculpt - pulls everything out of alignment. By the time these pieces were ready for exhibition, the discomfort was making me nauseous and unable to sleep through the night.

I why do it? Because you nailed it, sister: the sculptures are a kind of "by proxy" emoting. My body can't do those things anymore either, but the way they look is the way I feel; that's what I'm doing on the inside. All of 'that'. We're not single-celled organisms. We have a wild and endless variety show running inside all the time. Why pretend otherwise?
